About Westport Psychology
Meet melissa, your partner in growth
Taking the first step towards feeling better can feel intimidating, but it's a journey I've been privileged to walk alongside countless individuals on. My approach is rooted in collaboration, trust, and respect, creating a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential therapeutic space where you can explore your experiences.
I am a registered Clinical Psychologist (and Registered Psychotherapist) registered to provide assessment and intervention for children, adolescents, and adults. My journey began with a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Adler Graduate Professional School, followed by 5 years of supervised clinical practice in community-based and private practice settings before starting Westport Psychology.
I am currently registered in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario, the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology, and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.Throughout my years of training and practice, I've had the privilege of working with individual clients, overseeing clinical practices and programs in community-based settings, and educating, training, and supervising clinicians in their own practices.

Therapeutic Approach

I provide therapy and assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults facing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. My approach is integrative and evidence-based, grounded in attachment theory and trauma-informed care.
I draw from a variety of therapeutic models—including humanistic/client-centered, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and emotion-focused therapy—to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. In therapy, we’ll work together to identify goals, build on your strengths, and develop practical skills and strategies to support meaningful, lasting change.
I welcome individuals of all ages, identities, and backgrounds. My practice is inclusive and respectful of diversity in gender, race, culture, religion, sexual orientation, language, ability, and socioeconomic status.
I have extensive experience working with children and youth with diverse clinical presentations and needs, including anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, externalizing difficulties (including ADHD), attachment disturbances, and parent-child relational difficulties. I also provide parent coaching/consultation to help parents/caregivers better understand their child’s social, emotional, and behavioural concerns so that they may feel more empowered and better equipped to support them.
